Research Topic: How Autistic students between the ages of 18 to 25 are successful in college
Paper For Above instruction
The increasing enrollment of autistic students in college settings highlights the importance of understanding the factors that contribute to their academic and social success. I chose this research topic because I am passionate about supporting neurodiverse individuals in higher education and want to explore strategies that promote their success and inclusion. The goal of this study is to identify the key challenges and enabling factors that influence how autistic students aged 18 to 25 navigate college life, achieve academic goals, and develop social skills. By understanding these elements, educators and policymakers can better tailor support services to this population.
This research will adopt a qualitative approach, allowing for an in-depth exploration of the personal experiences, perceptions, and feelings of autistic college students. Through interviews and focus groups, I aim to gather rich, detailed data that provides insights into their unique challenges and successes. The study seeks to contribute to existing literature by shedding light on effective support mechanisms and fostering inclusive educational practices that enhance the college experience for autistic students.
