This week, you will continue working on your Final Project, which is due in Week 7. By Day 7, you must submit a business memo addressed to your instructor that explains how you plan to incorporate this week's learning into your Final Project. The memo should capture the main themes and important ideas from the week, providing a preliminary overview without expecting it to be a perfect synopsis.
The memo should include the following key components:
- Your preliminary summary of how you intend to incorporate the week's learning into your Final Project.
- Ideas and recommendations for how your organization can mitigate short-term and long-term issues associated with selecting and using data resources and systems.
- Brief descriptions of the types of data resources, data processing, and storage systems chosen for your project.
- An explanation of how the organization might manage the implications of those choices while leveraging opportunities for sustained business success or competitive advantage.
- Other relevant recommendations or issues you have identified, along with a brief analysis of why they are important.
If relevant information is lacking, you may seek insights from similar publicly traded companies to infer and make reasonable assumptions about your organization. Should you have questions about applying your learning or sourcing data, consult with your instructor through the provided contact link.
As a general guidance, your weekly assignment should be between 1.5 and 3 pages (or 0.75–1 page if single-spaced), excluding a title page and references. Throughout the course, you should keep notes on your learning each week and add them to your Final Project Portfolio. This portfolio will include your notes on relevant resources, ideas for improvement, analyses of the implications of your recommendations, and reasons supporting their importance.
For this week, begin setting up your presentation in PowerPoint by preparing a title slide and 1–2 slides with your preliminary recommendations relevant to this week's learning. Neither the Final Project Portfolio nor the slides need to be submitted this week for grading.

This week, my objective is to integrate competencies from recent lessons into my ongoing project, emphasizing a comprehensive understanding of data resources, processing, storage systems, and their implications for the organization.
My preliminary approach involves constructing a detailed plan that aligns with the organization's strategic objectives, emphasizing the importance of effective data governance and infrastructure. In particular, I aim to identify suitable data resources, evaluating their relevance and reliability to support decision-making processes. This will involve an assessment of various data types, including structured data from transactional systems and unstructured data from social media or other external sources.
Additionally, I will delineate the processes involved in handling these data types, focusing on data integration, cleansing, and analysis. Storage systems such as cloud-based services and on-premise servers will be considered, balancing considerations of security, scalability, and cost. My recommendations will prioritize establishing a flexible and secure data environment that mitigates risks such as data breaches, loss, or corruption, while facilitating accessibility for stakeholders.
To address potential challenges, I plan to suggest strategies such as investing in cybersecurity measures, implementing data privacy policies, and developing comprehensive disaster recovery plans. These, combined with the deployment of advanced analytics tools, will help leverage data assets to maintain competitiveness and foster business innovation.
