Unit 7 Assignment: Informative Speech Presentation

Unit 7 Assignment Informative Speech Presentationcom107 Introduction

This project consists of two parts: a written outline and a presentation video. You have already developed a detailed outline in preparation for your speech. Now, you will deliver the informative speech via video presentation. Your presentation must be supported by a minimum of three credible sources - this excludes personal experience. You may record the speech using your cell phone or webcam. You will then upload your video to Youtube, ensuring you select the “unlisted” option. This will keep your video private and allow access only to those who have the video link. You will then post the video link in the unit 7 informative speech assignment link.

The length of the speech should be 5 minutes and include: a clear visual aid, an attention getter, a thesis, a preview of main points, in speech citations of supporting materials (say them out loud during your speech), a summary of points in the conclusion, a memorable ending, and a works cited page. Optional: You can use a PowerPoint presentation (up to 5 slides) along with your speech, and use the Bandicam app to combine your video with the presentation.

Pay attention to your presentation style: speak loudly and clearly, record in a quiet, well-lit space, and ensure your face and body language are clearly visible. Dress appropriately. Stay within the 5-minute limit. Use practice sessions to prepare. Ensure your speech is clear and concise, and review the evaluation criteria before and after writing your speech.

Paper For Above instruction

The purpose of this assignment is to develop and deliver a comprehensive and engaging informative speech on a topic of your choosing, supported by credible sources. An effective informative speech not only educates the audience but also maintains their interest and enhances their understanding of the subject matter. This process involves careful planning, detailed outlining, script practice, visual aid preparation, and final video recording, culminating in submission via a private YouTube link.

First, select a topic that interests you and is appropriate for a short, five-minute presentation. Conduct research and gather at least three credible sources to support your points, excluding personal experiences. Organize your main ideas around three or four key points that will inform your audience. Develop a clear thesis statement that encapsulates the central idea of your speech. Outline your speech to include a compelling attention getter, a strong thesis statement, a preview of main points, and transitions that facilitate logical flow.

Once your outline is prepared, craft your speech with engaging language, incorporating in-speech citations of your sources—spoken aloud to demonstrate credibility. Practice delivering your speech to ensure clarity, proper timing, and confident delivery. As you rehearse, pay attention to your vocal projection, body language, and eye contact to create an engaging presentation style. Prepare any visual aids, such as slides, ensuring they are relevant, simple, free of errors, and enhance your spoken words.

During the recording, find a quiet, well-lit space to ensure high audio and visual quality. Position yourself at the center of the frame with professional attire and a friendly, confident demeanor. The video should successfully communicate your topic and support your main points within the five-minute limit. Remember to cite your sources both in speech and in the works cited page, formatted according to APA style.

After recording, upload the video to YouTube, select the unlisted setting, and submit the link as instructed. Review your submission for clarity, professionalism, and adherence to time and technical requirements. The goal is to produce a polished, informative presentation that effectively combines content, delivery, and visual support, demonstrating your understanding of communication principles and media literacy skills.
