Working annotated bibliography (also known as annotated Works Cited): You must include at least 5 sources that look promising, which will help you analyze the significance of race, class, gender, etc., identities of the characters included in the film or television series that you've selected. You MUST identify at least 2 primary sources (e.g., interviews with writer, director, producer or actors featured in the film or TV show you are writing about) AND 3 scholarly sources. You may use books as scholarly sources and/or digital/electronic (web) materials, but 3 of them MUST be peer-reviewed (scholarly) texts. The bibliography should be annotated, explaining the credibility/trustworthiness of each source, potential bias and intended audience, and what kind of information to expect from it.
Paper For Above instruction
The assignment requires selecting a film or television show that features a Black performance artist or is directed by a Black artist. The core task is to write a 5-page analysis focusing on how the main characters exemplify the intersectionality of race, class, and gender identities. This analysis should explore how the characters illustrate the concept of "diversity within blackness" and examine whether the use of genres like drama, suspense, comedy, satire, or irony reinforces or challenges negative stereotypes of Blackness. Additionally, it is essential to consider how geographic location and historical context influence the characters' perspectives.
Furthermore, students are required to create a PowerPoint presentation that clearly and creatively illustrates their thesis. The presentation should be well-organized, with effective visual and audio aids that enhance the message. It must demonstrate critical thinking by clearly distinguishing between facts and interpretations. The presentation will be judged on its organization, visual creativity, and critical engagement with the topic.
