To achieve this, I am committed to acquiring the necessary education, practical experience, and professional skills. Understanding psychological theories pertinent to human behavior and motivation can significantly enhance my effectiveness as a future healthcare provider.

The theory that resonates most with me from the course is Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). This theory emphasizes the importance of observational learning, self-efficacy, and the dynamic interaction between personal, behavioral, and environmental factors. Bandura proposed that an individual's belief in their capabilities (self-efficacy) influences their motivation and actions. This theory helped me better understand the significance of confidence and motivation in health-related behaviors, especially in the context of physical therapy.

In my personal life, I have observed how self-efficacy influences my ability to adopt healthy habits, such as consistent exercise routines. For example, when I started a new workout regimen, my belief in my ability to succeed motivated me to persist despite initial difficulties. Conversely, a lack of confidence can hinder progress. Learning about SCT has reinforced the importance of fostering positive self-efficacy in patients, as it can lead to better adherence to therapy plans and overall recovery outcomes.
