This week you will be working on Word Module 2 (Creating a Research paper with References and Sources on pages WD 58-111). You will be creating the Headphones and Earbuds paper by following all of the chapter directions. In both academic and business environments, you will be asked to write reports. Business reports range from proposals to cost justifications to five-year plans to research findings. Academic reports focus mostly on research findings.

A research paper is a document you can use to communicate the results of research findings. To write a research paper, you learn about a particular topic from a variety of sources (research), organize your ideas from the research results, and then present relevant facts and/or opinions that support the topic. Your final research paper combines properly credited outside information along with personal insights. Thus, no two research papers — even if they are about the same topic — will or should be the same. Next, you will complete Lab 1 on pages and save the file as your last name Wearable Devices.

Narrative Essay topics to choose from include: describing an important relationship and how it changed; meeting a famous person; meeting the love of your life; a vivid dream you had (without revealing it as a dream until the end); or an experience that positively or negatively affected your life. The essay should be two to two-and-a-half pages long, double-spaced, and concise, adhering to the setup instructions provided in the "Course Information" document.

The essay should be between two and two-and-a-half pages in length, double-spaced, and adhere strictly to formatting guidelines specified in the "Course Information" document. Word economy is vital; therefore, students must choose their words carefully to maximize impact within the space limitations. Reflective writing, combined with sensory details and personal insights, produces a relatable and authentic narrative—an essential skill in both academic and professional writing (Abbott, 2017).

In conclusion, both the research paper and the narrative essay serve as foundational exercises in developing critical academic and professional skills. The research report emphasizes analytical thinking, source credibility, and proper citation, while the narrative essay focuses on storytelling, emotional expression, and effective communication.
