My most pivotal writing experience involved receiving detailed feedback on an early essay during my college freshman year. At the time, I struggled with clarity and organization, which affected my confidence. The instructor’s constructive critique, emphasizing the importance of clarity and revision (as outlined in The Writer’s Way, pp. 7-10), motivated me to view feedback as an opportunity for growth rather than criticism. This exposure to different writing styles and the subsequent practice of revising my drafts significantly improved my skills.
