You have the option to submit a rough draft for the instructor to review and provide feedback prior to submission of the final submission. Guidelines for this assignment are: One-page typed (minimum of 250 words), double-spaced, 12-point font.
Include an academic heading with your name, class, date, and title. Include details such as who, what, where, when, and why. Describe the setting and something unusual or special that occurred. Include a minimum of ten different verbs in the preterit and ten different verbs in the imperfect. Accents, punctuation, and spelling are graded.

When I was a child, one of my most memorable celebrations was my tenth birthday party. It took place at my grandparents’ house in a small town, where I spent most of my childhood. The weather was sunny and warm, and the entire family gathered to celebrate this special occasion. I remember that my mother decorated the backyard with colorful balloons and streamers, creating a festive atmosphere. My grandparents prepared my favorite foods, and my friends arrived early to surprise me.
During the party, I felt excited and grateful. I played games with my friends, laughed a lot, and enjoyed the music that my uncle played on the guitar. My father brought a big cake with my name on it, and everyone sang “Happy Birthday.” I blew out the candles and made a wish. Suddenly, a small dog ran into the yard, barking loudly, which was quite unusual because it rarely visited us. The dog sparkled my curiosity, and I tried to pet it. The afternoon was filled with joy and warmth, and I remember feeling very happy with everyone around me.
In the background, my family was preparing the table, and my cousins danced to popular songs. The sky gradually turned darker, and the party ended with fireworks that lit up the night sky. This celebration was not only fun but also special because I realized how important family and friends are in my life. The day remains vivid in my memory, and I often look back on it with happiness and nostalgia. This event marked a milestone in my childhood and left me with wonderful memories that I cherish to this day.
