An argument can be made that the musician and the girl in the film are friends and there is an element of love to their relationship. They meet randomly in the streets and instantly hit it off. The musician notes that he has been lonely and is happy to finally have someone that he can talk to.

This is a very important paradigm of friendship. True friends usually serve to fill a certain void in the life of an individual.
