The objective of this paper is to design and develop a system or program to apply quality, Lean, or Six Sigma tools and performance measurement techniques to solve a specific problem within an industry. The paper should include a brief summary of the problem, the industry context, and the quality tools planned for use. This outline will be posted to the discussion board under the forum “Research outline”. The outline’s length should be between the specified word count (noted as 'words' in the original prompt).
The full paper should be between 8-10 pages for undergraduate students or 13-15 pages for graduate students, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font size 12. It must exclude cover pages, table of contents, and appendices. A minimum of eight credible references from journals or books should be included, with citations formatted according to APA style, 6th edition or later. The paper should identify a specific industry problem (e.g., food, retail, construction, airline, department store, manufacturing, healthcare, government, education, service, consulting, etc.) and demonstrate how learned quality tools and techniques from the course (IndM 4230) can be applied to solve it.
