A comprehensive project is required which is intended for students to demonstrate a mastery of the course content and concepts. The project should be no more than 12 pages in length (not including title, reference pages, or appendices) and with APA formatting. (No abstract is required.) Do not refer to yourself in the first person; rather, refer to yourself as “the group leader.” The following guidelines should be utilized for completing your project using each sub-heading (must be in the order listed below). You are to develop a six session Christ-centered psycho-educational process group program with these elements:

Briefly state the purpose of your program in 1 or 2 sentences (e.g., “this program is designed to…”).
Population
Be specific about the intended participants, including age range, gender, developmental aspects, and identifying characteristics or criteria. Exclude theoretical approach details.
Rationale
Define and explain the focal problem. Discuss why there is a need for treatment for this population and problem, and why a group approach is more viable than individual therapy.
Theoretical Approach
Specify the approach(s) used in your program and justify why this choice is appropriate.
Integration
Explain how Judeo-Christian themes, values, and purpose will be incorporated through techniques, activities, or format.
Recruitment
Describe how you will recruit participants, the timeframe for filling group slots, and your recruitment plan.
Screening
Detail the selection or de-selection process, including an overview of screening tools like pre-tests or intake forms. Include sample forms in the Appendix.
Structure
Outline the scheduling details—day and time, duration, open or closed group, meeting frequency, size, and suggested meeting location.
Pre/Post Group Meetings
Describe plans for pre- and post-group meetings including dates, times, locations, and purposes of these meetings.
Goals
List the overarching goals for the group, consider inviting members to suggest additional goals, and specify individual goals if applicable.
Ground Rules
Identify rules to enhance group function, state whether rules are established by the leader or with member input.
Ethical Issues
Discuss ethical considerations such as confidentiality, informed consent, parental permissions, and any issues specific to your population or techniques. Include copies of related forms in the Appendix.
Multicultural Issues
Anticipate and address multicultural issues, diversity considerations, and strategies for handling these aspects within the group context.
Group Leader
Define the role, qualifications, and leadership style best suited for facilitating the group.
Risks and Benefits
Describe potential risks inherent in group work and the benefits specific to your program.
Evaluation
Plan how to assess the group's effectiveness; include an evaluation form in the Appendix.
Group Sessions
For each session: state the goal(s), possible difficulties or strengths, discussion topics, and at least one activity or technique.
Ensure all guidelines and subheadings are incorporated to meet grading criteria. Use credible sources and APA format throughout the paper, and include all relevant forms and materials in the Appendix.
