During the pandemic, healthcare practices in labor and delivery units have adapted to ensure safety, including increased use of PPE, reduced hospital visitors, and telehealth consultations (O'Neill et al., 2021). These changes have reshaped patient experiences, emphasizing safety but also adding stress and challenges. Despite improved management, the pandemic’s ongoing presence underscores the need for vigilance and vaccination to protect pregnant people and newborns. The pandemic has also highlighted health disparities, urging a reevaluation of healthcare equity and access (Wang et al., 2022). Overall, while the threat has lessened due to vaccines, COVID-19 remains a concern, especially in vulnerable groups, and continues to influence how we approach labor and delivery.
