This paper identifies three traits that I have mastered, three traits I aim to develop further, attributes attributed to notable women, and strategies to enhance these qualities.

Traits I Have Mastered

The first trait I believe I have mastered is confidence, attributed to Oprah Winfrey. Oprah's unwavering belief in her abilities and her capacity to communicate effectively have propelled her to international success. I have worked diligently to build my self-confidence through public speaking engagements, practicing affirmations, and embracing challenges without fear of failure. For example, participating in leadership roles at work has helped solidify my belief in my capabilities and increased my resilience to setbacks.

The second trait is resilience, associated with Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama exemplifies resilience through her ability to recover from setbacks and maintain her commitments despite obstacles. I have cultivated resilience by adopting a growth mindset, viewing failures as opportunities for learning. During challenging projects at work, I have remained persistent, sought feedback, and adapted my strategies—mirroring Michelle Obama’s approach to overcoming adversity. This persistence has empowered me to persevere in difficult situations.

The third trait is strategic thinking, attributed to Sheryl Sandberg. Sandberg's ability to develop and execute strategies has been pivotal in her success at Facebook and beyond. I have sharpened my strategic thinking skills by engaging in planning exercises, analyzing complex problems systematically, and considering long-term implications before making decisions. This approach has enabled me to contribute more effectively to my team’s objectives and to think several steps ahead in project management.

Traits I Would Like to Develop Further

The first trait I wish to develop more fully is assertiveness, attributed to Malala Yousafzai. Malala’s fearless advocacy for education despite threats and opposition underscores the importance of assertiveness. I am working on articulating my views more confidently, especially in situations where my opinions might be overlooked or dismissed. Melinda’s capacity to understand and manage her own emotions, as well as empathize with others, has been instrumental in her philanthropic work. Developing this trait will aid in building stronger relationships and fostering collaboration.

The third trait for further development is adaptability, classified under Angela Merkel. Merkel’s pragmatic approach to politics and her ability to adapt to changing circumstances have maintained her power and influence. I am working on becoming more adaptable by remaining open to new ideas, embracing change rather than resisting it, and learning to pivot strategies when necessary. This involves stepping outside my comfort zone and seeking diverse perspectives to broaden my understanding.

Mastering confidence, resilience, and strategic thinking has enabled me to navigate challenges effectively. Simultaneously, I recognize the importance of developing assertiveness, emotional intelligence, and adaptability to enhance my leadership capabilities. Continuous self-improvement, inspired by these role models, will facilitate my growth as a successful woman committed to making a positive impact. Emulating these traits while personalizing growth strategies can lead to a more fulfilling and impactful career and life.
