A positive attribute commonly associated with women in leadership is empathy. This empathetic approach can lead to better team cohesion, improved morale, and more inclusive decision-making processes (Eagly & Carli, 2003). On the other hand, a negative attribute sometimes linked to women in leadership roles is perceived as emotionality. Some may unfairly perceive women as overly emotional or less decisive, which could undermine their authority or credibility in high-pressure situations (Catalyst, 2020). Conversely, men are often viewed as more assertive, a positive trait that can drive organizations forward but may also be perceived negatively if seen as aggressive or domineering (Eagly & Johnson, 1990). Overall, gender influences leadership perceptions, but it is crucial to evaluate leaders based on their skills and actions rather than stereotypes (Smith & Johnson, 2019). In conclusion, while gender can shape perceived leadership qualities, effective leadership ultimately depends on individual capabilities and the ability to adapt to organizational needs without bias.
