Throughout this course, I have significantly enhanced my ability to critically appraise best practices and apply clinical judgment in developing evidence-based nursing care plans targeted at managing both acute and chronic diseases across the lifespan and healthcare continuum. Engaging with diverse and complex case studies such as COPD exacerbation, peptic ulcer disease, cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs), and colon cancer has provided me with valuable insights into how to tailor individualized care plans that address not only the physical aspects of patient health but also encompass psychological, social, and environmental considerations. The holistic approach emphasized in this course reinforces the importance of viewing each patient as a whole, ensuring that care strategies are comprehensive and patient-centered.
An integral component of this learning experience has been the focus on evidence-based practice (EBP). This emphasis has underscored the necessity of staying current with clinical guidelines and the latest research findings. It has also highlighted the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare planning and implementation.
