The chosen topic is adolescent mental health, specifically targeting improvements in mental health screening and early intervention among adolescents aged 12-17. This objective aims to improve mental health outcomes for young people, recognizing the critical importance of early detection and management in preventing long-term psychological issues.
The rationale for selecting adolescent mental health as a focus stems from the increasing prevalence of mental health disorders within this age group and the significant impact such issues have on their overall development, academic achievement, and social relationships.
