Assessing Competence Level I used the ACHE Self-Assessment and successfully completed it to establish my competency level in various healthcare concepts and tasks (ACHE HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVE 2022 COMPETENCIES ASSESSMENT TOOL, 2022). This assessment helped me precisely gauge my present knowledge and skills in several sectors of healthcare management. It helped me better recognize my own strengths and places for improvement.

Strengths and Weaknesses After taking the ACHE Self-Assessment and drawing on my own experience as a Quality Engineer, I was able to identify several areas where I thrive as well as areas where I may improve. I have great expertise in data analysis, quality improvement methodologies, and guaranteeing regulatory compliance, particularly in the medical device industry. Nonetheless, I am aware of the need to increase my knowledge of healthcare management, policy development, financial management, and strategic organization.

Current Position and Desired Position I currently work as a Quality Engineer for a medical device company. In my current position, I am responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting quality audits, and assisting with process improvement efforts. Nonetheless, my ambition is to advance to a position in healthcare management or regulatory affairs, where I can actively shape an organization's long-term strategy and assure compliance with ever-changing healthcare rules.

Required Skill Sets To flourish in my work as a Quality Engineer, I must be proficient in quality management systems, regulations, risk assessment, data analysis, and problem-solving (Noble, 2022). Additional skill sets required for healthcare management or regulatory responsibilities include healthcare policy formulation, financial management, strategic planning, leadership, and effective communication.

MHA Program Courses The Master of Health Administration program offers a comprehensive selection of courses covering a wide range of topics relating to healthcare service administration and regulatory compliance. Healthcare Policy and Economics, Financial Management in Healthcare, Strategic Planning and Marketing in Healthcare, Leadership, and Organizational Behavior, and Healthcare Quality Management are among the relevant courses given in the program.

Selected Courses Given my current job and the role I aspire to have in the future, I have carefully selected three courses from the MHA program that I anticipate will enhance my skill set, enabling me to excel in my present position and adequately prepare me for a higher-responsibility role. These courses encompass the following options: Healthcare Policy and Economics: Enrolling in this course will enhance my understanding of the creation of healthcare policies, healthcare economics, and the regulatory context. This experience will provide me with the necessary information to effectively handle intricate policy matters and make well-informed choices regarding conformity and strategic planning.

Financial Management in Healthcare: This course will provide me with a comprehensive knowledge of financial management principles specifically designed for the distinctive requirements of the healthcare industry. It will provide me with the ability to assess financial information, create budgets, and make prudent financial choices within healthcare institutions. Leadership and Organizational Behavior: This course will concentrate on the enhancement of leadership abilities and comprehension of organizational behavior within the healthcare environment (Carson, 2021). This experience will provide me with the essential skills to successfully guide teams, navigate through change, and establish a constructive organizational atmosphere.

Expected Benefits These specific courses will help me improve my skill set and performance as a Quality Engineer. The Healthcare Policy and Economics course will broaden my understanding of policy development and regulatory compliance. This will allow me to make important contributions to my organization's strategic decision-making process. Taking the Financial Management in Healthcare course will equip me with the financial information I need to participate effectively in budget planning and decision-making processes. Taking the Leadership and Organizational Behavior course will help me lead better by improving my communication and collaboration abilities with interdisciplinary teams.
