Reflection/written explanation of your project
What passage are you focusing on? Hint: Before you present, is there anything we need to know beforehand?
Answer the questions below as part of your reflection:
- What is your medium and why?
- What scripture did you choose?
- What is the context the scripture finds itself?
- Why is this text important to you?
- How does this text speak to the Gospel (good news of Jesus)?
Paper For Above instruction
The project involves selecting a Scripture from the New Testament that has resonated deeply during the semester. The student must decide on an appropriate medium—such as painting, a mini thesis paper, music, poetry, or film—to creatively express the Scripture's significance. The context of the chosen passage must be clearly articulated, providing background and explaining its placement within the broader narrative or letter.
For the reflection component, the student should address several key questions: Why was this particular medium chosen and how does it enhance understanding of the Scripture? What is the specific passage selected? What is the historical, literary, or theological context of this Scripture? Why does this passage hold personal importance? And finally, how does this Scripture exemplify or communicate the Gospel—the good news of Jesus Christ?
The presentation should be approximately ten minutes, demonstrating clear communication, confidence, and engagement with both Scripture and the audience. Dress should be business casual to convey professionalism. The reflection essay and presentation must incorporate thoughtful analysis, demonstrating interaction with the Scripture and comprehension of its relevance in the Christian faith.
This project aims to deepen understanding of biblical passages and explore creative ways to communicate their message, integrating personal reflection with scholarly insight. Ensuring clarity, preparedness, and meaningful audience interaction will be key factors in assessment.
