In the Final Project for this course, you will select a nonprofit or non-governmental organization (NPO/NGO) you are working for or are familiar with to analyze various aspects of the organization. The project demonstrates your understanding, application, and critical evaluation of the major concepts presented in the course. Throughout the course, utilize the readings, discussions, and assignments to inform your analysis, emphasizing how course topics relate to the organization you chose.
The Final Project will include an analysis of several sections on your selected organization, with each section providing recommendations for improvement or change supported by scholarly sources. At least four scholarly sources published within the last five years must be used throughout the paper, which should be grounded in best practices and scholarly research rather than personal opinions. Use the Walden Library and other credible academic resources for your research.

Mission and Vision
This section should present the organization's mission and vision statements clearly and evaluate their effectiveness. Discuss the importance of these statements in guiding organizational purpose, strategy, and decision-making. Critically assess whether the statements accurately reflect the organization’s core values and operational goals. Recommendations should focus on refining or reaffirming mission and vision statements to align better with current organizational aims and future aspirations, supported by scholarly insights into effective mission and vision formulation.
Governance
Provide detailed information about the governance structure, specifically focusing on the board of directors, including their composition, roles, and responsibilities. Discuss the legal requirements specific to the organization’s location, such as statutes governing nonprofit governance. Offer suggestions to enhance board engagement, diversity, and commitment, including strategies for effective board member recruitment, retention, and development, supported by governance best practices.
Ethics
In this section, highlight the critical role of ethics in nonprofit management. Identify any known or potential ethical issues concerning transparency, accountability, conflicts of interest, or organizational integrity. Strategic Planning

Conclusion
Summarize the key points discussed in the analysis, reiterating the organization’s strengths and areas needing improvement. Include your personal insights gained through the analysis and reflection on how the organization can evolve to increase its effectiveness and social impact.
The final paper should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and critical thinking, follow APA style guidelines, and be between 12 to 16 pages in double-spacing format, excluding title, abstract, and references. References must be credible, scholarly, and current, properly cited throughout the paper.
