For this assignment, students will select a topic of their choice based on what they have learned in the course. Students will research that topic for its connection to human health. Students may pick any topic from the suggested list below or any other topic of their choice that is relevant to course content and outcomes. Students must get approval for their chosen topic from the instructor. Students are encouraged to start work on this assignment early in the session.

The assignment requires students to choose a health-related topic relevant to course content and outcomes, conduct thorough research on its connection to human health, and present their findings in a narrated PowerPoint presentation consisting of 8 to 10 slides. The project emphasizes understanding complex biological and physiological concepts and their implications for health. This endeavor aims to deepen students’ grasp of human body systems, cellular functions, disease mechanisms, and diagnostic tools, thereby reinforcing the course's learning outcomes.
Students are provided with a list of suggested topics to guide their selection, although they are encouraged to choose an alternative topic aligned with their interests and the course material. The suggested topics include the effects of health supplements on the human body, applications of radio-isotopes in medicine, organelle malfunctions and associated diseases, disorders caused by non-disjunction, health conditions affecting metabolism, use of histology as a diagnostic tool, the impact of radiation on skin health, skeletal deformities and disorders, and physiological abnormalities of the skeletal system.
