Paper For Above instruction
Option 1: Compare and Contrast Works of Art from the 20th Century
Select two titled works of art discussed in class from the 20th century—these can be in visual art, literature/poetry, architecture, philosophy/religion, or performing arts—that reflect changes influenced by historical contexts such as Modernism, the Freudian Revolution, World Wars, the Depression, Existentialism, Ethnic/Racial Identity, or Globalization. Define three distinct similarities and either contrasts between these works, and discuss how each represents its respective time period. Use course materials, readings, films, and discussions to support your analysis. Organize your essay around the three comparisons/contrasts, and in your conclusion, explain their importance to 20th/21st-century culture. This is not a research paper; focus on your interpretation and understanding of the works and historical contexts.
Option 2: Analyze a Piece of Social Realism Modern Art
Choose one piece of social realism modern art from your textbook that evokes strong thought or emotion. Critically analyze this artwork by describing, analyzing, interpreting, and judging it. Address the following questions in depth: How does it objectively and lifelike present socially significant subject matter? How does it serve as a vehicle of criticism and political protest? How does it communicate the concerns of society’s masses? Organize your essay around these questions, using your course material and class discussions to justify your points. Demonstrate your understanding of the historical and cultural contexts, and reflect your personal perceptions—this is not a research paper.
Additional Guidelines
Develop a well-structured argument, include transitions between paragraphs, and ensure clarity in spelling, grammar, and sentence structure throughout your essay. Be thoughtful and thorough in your analysis and reflection, demonstrating a deep understanding of the course material.
Note
Follow the above instructions carefully, and your essay should be approximately 1,500 words with credible course-based references. Do not include placeholders or generic directives. Your submission will be evaluated based on content depth, organization, critical thinking, and adherence to the assignment guidelines.
