In this reflection, I will elaborate on the process of choosing a scenario for my intervention proposal, highlighting the factors that influenced my decision, the scenarios that resonated most with me, and how the selected scenario connects to my aspirations. Additionally, I will discuss the research needs and potential limitations that I anticipate in developing a comprehensive intervention plan.
After reviewing the multiple scenarios presented, I opted to focus on the scenario involving adolescent substance abuse in urban communities. My choice was driven by a strong interest in public health and an understanding of the profound impacts substance abuse can have on youth development, family dynamics, and community well-being. This scenario aligns closely with my long-term goals of designing health promotion programs that target vulnerable populations. The urban setting added a layer of complexity and relevance, as urban youth often face unique socio-economic challenges that contribute to higher substance use rates.
