Additionally, it serves as preparation for a final course assignment, "A Report for Vice President's Approval," due in Week 10.
In this scenario, your Vice President (VP) has tasked you with creating a new team to support a new product or service that the company is launching. The team should consist of 5 to 7 members, including yourself as the team leader. Your task is to develop a foundational plan by determining and describing the roles needed, their responsibilities, the tasks associated with each role, and the essential skills and traits required for team members to perform effectively.

In designing this team, specific roles are essential. First, as the team leader, I will oversee project coordination, set goals, and ensure communication among team members. A Marketing Specialist will develop branding strategies, identify target audiences, and execute promotional campaigns. A Customer Support Coordinator will ensure the team addresses post-launch issues, gathers customer feedback, and sustains positive user experiences.
Each role requires specific skills and traits. The team leader must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to motivate and coordinate team members. The Business Analyst needs analytical thinking, proficiency in data tools, creativity in problem-solving, and attention to detail, critical for interpreting data accurately and deriving actionable strategies (Northouse, 2021). The Product Developer should possess technical expertise in product design and engineering, coupled with project management skills. The Marketing Specialist must be creative, with social media savvy and excellent communication skills. The Customer Support Coordinator needs empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills to address customer concerns effectively.
To ensure team effectiveness, a leader can employ several strategies. First, establishing clear communication channels is crucial to prevent misunderstandings and promote transparency.
