Paper For Above instruction
During my recent shadowing experience as an assistant manager at the outpatient surgical center of Cleveland Clinic, I observed the delivery of surgical procedures and reviewed relevant policies that influence patient care. The experience provided valuable insights into how policies and staff interactions can promote or hinder holistic, evidence-based nursing practices within a complex healthcare environment. My objective is to foster an inclusive environment that ensures holistic, evidence-based, and high-quality nursing care across diverse and increasingly complex settings, aligned with current best practices and cultural competence.
To achieve this goal, I have established the following measurable objective based on Bloom’s taxonomy: “By the end of three months, I will implement and evaluate an inclusive nursing care protocol that demonstrates a measurable improvement (at least 20%) in patient satisfaction scores related to holistic care, as measured by patient surveys.” This objective emphasizes the application and evaluation levels of Bloom’s taxonomy, ensuring a structured progression toward inclusion and quality in patient care.
Three key activities have been identified to attain this goal:
1. Educational Workshops and Cultural Competency Training: Organize monthly training sessions for the nursing staff focusing on culturally competent care, evidence-based practices, and holistic approaches tailored to diverse patient populations. This activity promotes the application of knowledge and fosters a shared understanding of inclusive practices.
2. Review and Update Policies and Procedures: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to review current policies related to patient-centered care, ensuring they incorporate holistic and inclusive strategies. Amend policies based on latest evidence and staff feedback, then disseminate these updates through staff meetings and training sessions. This activity ensures continuous policy improvement aligned with best practices.
3. Implement Patient-Centered Care Interventions and Collect Feedback: Pilot specific interventions aimed at enhancing holistic care, such as personalized care planning and involvement of family members, then systematically collect patient satisfaction data before and after implementation. Use this data to evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions and refine practices. This activity involves applying new care models and evaluating their impact on patient satisfaction, directly tying into Bloom’s evaluation level.
Evaluating agency policies on patient-centered care involves analyzing current procedures for inclusivity, evidence basis, and cultural sensitivity, and recommending improvements based on best practices and patient feedback. Regular audits and staff surveys can measure adherence and effectiveness, fostering a continuous quality improvement process.
In conclusion, by focusing on education, policy review, and targeted interventions, I aim to cultivate an inclusive environment that supports holistic, evidence-based, and quality nursing care, critical in today’s complex healthcare systems.
