Life Is Often About The Choices You Make Do You Accept Jesus Into Yo
Life is often about the choices you make. Do you accept Jesus into your life? Do you take a leap of faith and pursue higher education after high school? What career field do you want to master? You have made a host of choices throughout your life to get to this spot—in this class.
Now, you will get to choose how to see the fruits of a walk with the Lord in the realm of sports management. For your first major assignment, you must choose between one of the following prompts: 1. Now that you have started learning about the application of law in sports management, why not obtain experience as well? For this assignment, you must contact a Christian high school, college, or professional sports manager or athletics director or department and interview the key decision-maker for the Christian organization. Explain to them that you were asked to reach out and learn more about how both the Lord and the law impact the sport management field.
In the interview, you should first ask them how they wound up in the position they currently hold. Additionally, ask them how Christ has influenced their career and leadership in the sport industry. Finally, discuss how the law influences their activities. Assess whether they have a preventive plan in place for various aspects of what they do, and who helps develop those plans. Make sure to take thorough notes.
Write a five-page paper in APA format (not including the cover page or references page) discussing what you learned from the interview, how Jesus impacts sport management, and what influences the law may have had during the sport manager's career. You must include two (2) scholarly, peer-reviewed resources (not including your textbook or the Bible, which should also be included), particularly in the area of sports and the Bible, to craft your own vision of how sports, law, and God will interplay in your life. --OR-- 2. The interplay of faith, law, and sports management is a complex yet profoundly impactful area that shapes the careers and ethical frameworks of professionals in this field. Whether through an interview with a Christian sports manager or through independent research on the relationships among the Bible, law, and sports, understanding how these elements intersect provides valuable insights for future career development.
In exploring the personal experiences of a Christian sports manager, the interview process offers a window into how faith influences leadership decisions and day-to-day operations within a sports organization. The interviewee's journey into sports management often reflects a blend of passion for athletics and a desire to serve others through faith. For example, many Christian sports managers cite their faith as a guiding principle that influences ethical decision-making, promotes integrity, and fosters a supportive environment for athletes and staff (Smith & Johnson, 2020). Their testimony often includes how Christ’s teachings inspire their leadership style, emphasizing humility, service, and accountability.
Furthermore, the interview delves into how law impacts sports management. Legal considerations in sports include contracts, liability, compliance with regulations, and safeguarding the welfare of athletes. Most Christian sports managers implement preventive plans to mitigate legal risks, such as comprehensive insurance policies, background checks, and clear code of conduct policies. These plans are typically developed in collaboration with legal advisors and compliance officers to ensure adherence to both secular laws and faith-based ethical standards (Davis & Lee, 2018). The integration of biblical principles can guide the formulation of policies that emphasize fairness, respect, and compassion.
On a broader level, research into the interplay of the Bible, sports, and law reveals an intrinsic connection rooted in shared values such as justice, discipline, and community. The Bible advocates for fairness and compassion, which align closely with the ethical frameworks in sports that emphasize sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork. For instance, passages like 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 highlight discipline, which is vital in athletic training and management. Similarly, the law formalizes these ethical standards into enforceable regulations, ensuring that the spirit of respect and fairness transcends individual organizations to serve the broader societal good (Jones & Miller, 2019).
From a personal perspective, understanding the synergy between these elements influences my vision of career development. I aspire to integrate faith-based principles into my professional life, promoting ethical practices that align with biblical values while complying with legal standards. For example, establishing policies that protect athletes’ rights and promote inclusivity reflects biblical teachings of love and equity while also adhering to legal requirements.
Ultimately, the integration of the Bible, law, and sports management underscores the importance of ethical integrity and moral clarity in a competitive environment. These elements work together to foster a culture of respect, discipline, and service—values that are essential for effective and faith-driven sports management. As I envision my future career, I aim to champion these principles, ensuring that my work reflects both my faith and a commitment to legal and ethical excellence.
