The objective of this assignment is to introduce you to academic writing (APA or ASA) and to help you make a clear and logical presentation. The assignment will assess your ability to analyze a specific sociological topic from the course material, write up your findings in an academic format (APA or ASA), find and cite academic references in your work, and present your findings to the class.

You will be assigned to a group that will receive a chapter from the textbook to present. Your group will divide the chapter material, with each member assigned a different topic. Each student must choose a point of interest within their assigned material, research it, and write an individual paper of approximately 2 pages (around 1000 words). The paper must incorporate the textbook material, your chosen point of interest, and two additional credible sources that support or challenge the textbook content, properly cited using APA or ASA format.

The completed paper is due on the day of your group presentation; failure to submit will result in a zero for the assignment. Each group member is responsible for their own topic and submission on the scheduled presentation date.
