For this purpose, I have chosen to focus on low-income families, a group identified as particularly vulnerable within our society due to economic hardships and systemic barriers.
Low-income families face a multitude of challenges that impede their stability and well-being. Stark income disparities restrict their ability to meet basic needs, which often results in a cycle of poverty passed from one generation to the next. The societal impact of low-income families extends beyond individual hardships, affecting community development, public health, and social cohesion. Addressing the needs of low-income families requires a multifaceted approach involving policy interventions, community programs, and support services aimed at fostering economic stability and social mobility.
Research indicates that social workers and community organizations play a critical role in supporting low-income families by providing resources such as affordable housing, food assistance, and job training.
