For this activity, what did you want to learn from the experience PRIOR to participating? Please address one of the two learning outcomes for this event. Prior to the Wellstar event I had learned about professionalism within one of my courses here at PCOM. Professionalism taught me how to compose myself for an internship, a job, or to even become an executive member of a club; it’s very important to show and address professionalism to the interviewee. Professionalism demonstrates what you are capable of accomplishing within this field.

As an interviewee they don’t know you, you are being judged whether you are fit for the job within minutes. Prior to this event, I knew how important professionalism would be in helping me land my dream position however, after this event I learned that you could be professional but still not land your dream job due to other important factors. If not, what steps will you take for the next event you participate to ensure this occurs (100 – 200 word count)? For this event, I gained knowledge on what it’s like to work towards a residency and what I would have to do in order to possibly get a job in this facility. Wellstar is a nationally ranked healthcare system known for its high quality care. The speakers taught us how to make connections and how it’s important to be self-aware of your knowledge.

Dr. Doshi taught me that I don’t have to know everything when applying for a competitive position. However, I have to be able to apply myself and want to learn in order to succeed. The skills I learn will need to be applied lifelong as well as constantly learning other skills and material in this profession. This event was extremely helpful in providing feedback on what to do in the future.
