Prepare One Double Spaced Page In Which You Propose The Paper You Int

Prepare one, double-spaced page in which you propose the paper you intend to write. Your proposal should include the following information:

  • Business and Business Ethics Topic Selection – State the topic you selected from the list provided in Guidelines for Writing the Research Paper (located in the Ancillary Materials directory of Doc Sharing).
  • Initial Research – Based on your research and reading thus far, explain how you have narrowed or limited your topic.
  • Proposed Thesis – Describe (in no more than two or three sentences) what you will argue in your research paper. Use information in this course, Writing College Research Papers, and the Ashford Writing Center to help you develop your thesis. Remember: A thesis statement is an argument (not an observation); it tells your readers how you will interpret the topic(s) you plan to cover in your paper.

Be sure to include a reference page for any cited resources and ensure that all in-text citations follow APA style. For guidance, visit the Ashford Writing Center for APA samples and tutorials.

Word Range: approximately 250 words

Estimated Time on Task: 2-3 hours

Submission: Save as an MS Word or compatible DOC/DOCX file. Use a filename that includes your last name, the week number, and the assignment number (e.g., smith_w1_a1.doc) and submit via the assignment link.

Paper For Above instruction

The topic I have selected for my research paper is the ethical challenges faced by corporations in implementing sustainable business practices. As sustainability has become increasingly central to global business operations, my initial research has led me to narrow this broad subject to focus specifically on how large multinational corporations manage the tension between profitability and environmental responsibility. This narrowing process involved examining specific case studies of companies that have adopted sustainability initiatives, such as Patagonia, Unilever, and Tesla, to identify common ethical dilemmas and strategic approaches.

My proposed thesis is that while implementing sustainable business practices presents significant ethical challenges, corporations that effectively address these dilemmas through transparent policies and stakeholder engagement can not only enhance their reputation but also achieve long-term profitability. I will argue that ethical decision-making in sustainability involves balancing environmental considerations with business goals, and that companies committed to ethical principles are better positioned to navigate the complexities of sustainable development. This paper aims to demonstrate how ethical leadership and corporate responsibility are integral to successfully integrating sustainability into business strategies.

In developing this thesis, I will draw on scholarly articles from business ethics journals, case studies from reputable sources, and insights from academic texts on corporate social responsibility (CSR). My research will explore frameworks such as stakeholder theory, Brown and Treviño’s ethical decision-making models, and recent empirical studies on sustainability practices in multinational corporations. Ultimately, my paper will argue that ethical considerations are not secondary to business success but are foundational to sustainable growth and stakeholder trust.
