Think about how to increase efficiency in any of an organization’s fundamental areas, and consider what could be done to improve the process. You may use your own company as an example.
Identify a fundamental area in your organization in which there is an inefficiency. You may use the same one as you described in the discussion forum or choose another example area from the following options:
- Business Drivers: Capital Management, Customer Strategy (Marketing), Customer Relationships, Employee Development, Employee Satisfaction, Quality, Process Improvement, Change Management, Financial Analysis and Reporting

Consider alternative approaches such as:
- Combining reports (Would one report be better than multiple? Why?)

- Team environment or collaboration tools (Could these eliminate wasted time or lost documents? How?)

Ask yourself “why” a particular process is done that way. Focus on what makes the work easier for employees, not on available technology or costs. Think creatively—what if we could… [your idea]? Avoid preconceptions and explore new possibilities to increase efficiency.
Your assignment is to explain an approach different from your discussion forum example. Outline the problem or inefficiency with sufficient detail to show how it impacts organizational effectiveness. Use graphical aids where helpful to demonstrate the issues and potential improvements.
In your paper:
- Describe the context of the inefficiency clearly.
- Provide details of the current process, including supporting information.
- Explain the proposed new approach and how it would be more efficient.
- Provide a detailed evaluation of how accuracy and/or efficiency would improve under the new approach.
The paper should be at least three double-spaced pages (excluding title and references), formatted in APA style. Include a separate title page with the title, your name, course name and number, instructor’s name, and submission date. Use academic voice, include an introduction ending with a clear thesis statement, and a conclusion.
Utilize at least three credible, scholarly sources in addition to the course text, and cite all sources according to APA formatting guidelines. Incorporate quotes thoughtfully; avoid overusing direct quotations.
