How much time do I have to take the assessment exam? You have 48 hours to complete the exam once the exam has been started. The 48 hour clock starts as soon as you begin the exam, not from when you purchased the exam. The assessment exam did not start. Double check your pop-up blocker and/or personal firewall settings. The exam opens in a new window. Turn the pop-up blocker off. Add this site to your “safe sites” list within your personal firewall settings. Another option will be to select the link provided to launch the assessment exam in another window.
Am I allowed to take breaks during the testing? Yes, two 15-minute breaks are allowed for the entire exam, which is not based on the number of log-in attempts.
What if I need to stop during the exam? You are allowed to stop during an exam and restart at a later time. However, you only have 3 log-in attempts within the 48 hours. Also, when you re-start an exam, you will resume on the next question in the exam, not the one you left. If you exceed these limits, Peregrine Academic Services will only re-set the exam based on approval from your course instructor. These restrictions are necessary to preserve the academic integrity of the exam process.
How many questions are on the assessment exam? There are 50-120 multiple choice and True/False questions, depending upon the course you are taking.
How long will I need to take the exam? Typically, the exam should take about 50-190 minutes.
How much time is allowed to answer each question? You are allowed 5 minutes to answer each question. You will see the time remaining on the screen for each question during the exam.
Can I “back track” during the exam? No, you will not be able to go back to a question if you decide to skip it. You need to do your best to answer each question within the allotted time. Otherwise, it will be graded as 0 points.
Is the grade weighting the same for an unanswered question versus a question answered incorrectly? Yes.
What if 48 hours elapse or I attempt a 4th login? After 48 hours or more than 3 login attempts, the exam site is inaccessible and a grade will be generated, assigning 0 points to unanswered questions.
My grade didn’t post. Who do I contact? First, please wait at least 1 hour. The grade posting will be re-attempted automatically every 30 minutes. If the grade is not automatically posted at the end of the day, then a report will be generated to send to Ashford of all failed grade postings. This report is sent every Tuesday, and an Ashford official manually posts the grades. You will not be penalized for taking the exam on time and having the grade posted after the course ends.
Paper For Above instruction
The purpose of the assessment exam required at the end of the business program at Ashford University is primarily to evaluate and enhance the quality of the academic offerings. Such assessments enable institutions to gather data on student knowledge and readiness, while also informing curriculum improvements. This exam, which covers coursework throughout the program, assesses students' understanding of core concepts and skills aligned with accreditation standards. Proper preparation involves reviewing academic coursework completed during the degree, focusing on key topics in business such as management principles, organizational behavior, finance, marketing, and strategic planning (Litzinger et al., 2020).
Understanding the exam structure clarifies expectations for students. The assessment comprises multiple-choice and True/False questions, totaling between 50 and 120 items, with an estimated completion time of 50 to 190 minutes. The questions are timed, with a five-minute limit per question, emphasizing the importance of careful but efficient responses. During the exam, students cannot revisit previous questions, which necessitates focused attention and judgment. The exam is designed to be completed within the resources provided by the coursework, and no additional materials are allowed (Johnson & Christensen, 2019).
Accessing and completing the exam requires reliable internet connectivity and use of a compatible web browser. Students are responsible for troubleshooting access issues, including pop-up blockers and firewall settings. Should technical difficulties occur, contacting Peregrine Academic Services support is advised. The exam must be initiated within a 48-hour window once started, and students are allowed two 15-minute breaks, reflecting a balanced approach between assessment rigor and student well-being. If the exam session is interrupted, students must re-enter the exam within the three log-in attempt limit and resume from the point of interruption, maintaining the integrity of the testing process (Walker & Ashley, 2021).
Grading policies are strict regarding non-responses or unanswered questions, which are graded equally to incorrect answers. Performance is evaluated on a curve relative to national norms, with the final grade affecting academic records as per course grading policies. Technical and logistical issues, such as grade posting failures or exam access problems, are managed through scheduled reports and support communications with Ashford University officials, ensuring fairness and transparency (Harrop et al., 2020).
In conclusion, the assessment exam serves as a crucial component of the academic evaluation process. It offers a standardized measure of students' knowledge accumulated across the program, supports institutional improvements, and complies with accreditation standards. Students are encouraged to prepare diligently by revisiting coursework, managing time effectively during the exam, and utilizing available technical support resources to ensure a smooth testing experience. By understanding the exam's structure, policies, and technical requirements, students can approach this assessment with confidence and maximize their performance.
