Choose one of the following options to complete for the project component of your grade: Option A involves researching a current HR issue in Congress and writing a two-page formal letter addressed to your Congress person, based on your research and position. The letter must be typed, single-spaced, using Times New Roman 12-point font, with one-inch margins. Proper spelling, grammar, and citations are essential; there will be a deduction of five points for each error. A copy of the letter must also be sent to your state’s Senator or House Representative. The letter should not start with “I have to write this letter as an assignment for my Professor...”

Option B requires scheduling an on-site visit with an HR Manager, Director, or Vice President at a company where the individual holds an HR title. The visit must include a tour of the company, a photograph with the HR person and their business card (mandatory), and a detailed summary covering the introduction, questions asked, responses received, and final comments. The visit must be approved by the professor beforehand. The summary should be well-written, free of errors, and properly cited. Successful completion of this project earns a 20-point bonus.
