Prior to beginning work on this assignment, I reviewed the research guides and tutorials available under the Getting Research Help tabs in the Ashford University Library. This initial step helped me understand the importance of developing effective research strategies and utilizing the library’s various search functions. I learned that narrowing searches by author, publication year, subject, and resource type can significantly improve the accuracy and relevance of search results. Additionally, I explored the librarian services offered to assist in finding scholarly resources, which provided insight into how external guidance can enhance research efficiency. Engaging with these resources increased my confidence in navigating the library database and using advanced search options to locate peer-reviewed articles pertinent to my academic interests.
