Considering everything we have covered this semester, in this last essay I will reflect on my growth as a writer. Throughout the course, I have engaged with various assignments that challenged me, helped me develop new skills, and deepened my understanding of effective writing. My reflection will discuss my experiences with the most and least rewarding assignments, my growth in understanding documentation, and what I have learned about myself both as a writer and an individual. This essay will be organized around a central thesis that encapsulates my overall development and insights gained during this course.

My journey as a writer in this course has been both challenging and rewarding, marked by substantial growth and newfound confidence. One of the most difficult assignments for me was the research paper proposal. Initially, I struggled with narrowing down a topic and understanding how to organize my ideas coherently within academic research standards. The process of developing a clear thesis and formulating research questions required me to think critically and plan meticulously. I found this assignment daunting because it demanded a high level of focus on detail, and I feared that my initial ideas might lack depth or originality. However, through repeated drafts and seeking feedback from my instructor, I learned to approach research systematically, which fundamentally improved my writing process.

Conversely, the persuasive essay was the most rewarding for me, as it enabled me to harness persuasive strategies and engage deeply with my own voice. This assignment helped me recognize the power of tone, structure, and evidence in convincing readers. If I could have spent more time reviewing and practicing documentation, I believe I would have further strengthened my writing.
