This project helps you reflect on your current strengths and plan your future development at university. It is divided into two parts: a reflection on your current qualities and an action plan for your growth.

Part 1: Where you are now
Every interview, whether for employment or graduate school, often begins with the question, “Tell us three words that describe you.” Typically, interviewees focus on their strengths. For this part, first, select three words that best describe you. Reflect on each word's significance and how it manifests in your actions or mindset. Then, choose one of these words to elaborate upon. Provide a short story or example that demonstrates how you embody this particular trait or strength. Your response should be approximately two to four paragraphs, illustrating a clear and personal understanding of this quality.
Part 2: Moving forward
As a student midway through your college journey and just beginning at the University of Washington, this section provides an opportunity to look ahead. Consider where you want to go from here and how you can develop and enhance the strengths you've identified. Select three options from the following list and develop a concrete action plan for each:
- Getting involved in undergraduate research
- Joining social or academic clubs/organizations
- Studying abroad
- Finding a volunteer or internship position
- Taking part in student leadership opportunities (including peer teaching)
- Pursuing a minor or a second major
For each chosen option, write at least one well-thought-out paragraph detailing your ideas. Include any preliminary research you've conducted or insights gained in class, as well as questions you need to explore more about these options. Identify key individuals or resources (“go-to” people) who can assist you in pursuing these opportunities. Consider how you will gather more information to refine your plans, such as linking relevant websites or resources that could help guide your decisions.
