Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade. In "Meeting the Ethical Challenges of Leadership," read Chapter 3: Integrity section and Chapter 10: Integrity section. Watch the following videos: TED Talk: "Simplifying Humility and Integrity" and "Ethics Defined: Integrity." Complete the Integrity and Work Ethics Test. Reflect critically on the following questions: Do you believe the outcome of the test provides a good depiction of who you are? Did you agree or disagree with the outcome?

Look back at the outcome of the Self-Assessment from Workshop One and compare it with the results from the Integrity and Work Ethics Test. Do these outcomes have anything in common? How do these results help you better understand your ethical behavior?

Your reflection should be between 450 and 700 words and include at least two scholarly sources. Use correct spelling, grammar, and APA format. For questions on APA style, refer to the OCLS APA Writing Styles Guide. Cover pages, references, and other academic sources do not count toward the word length. This assignment will help you prepare for your final paper in Workshop Six.

Understanding and reflecting on one’s integrity and work ethics are essential components of ethical leadership and personal development. This paper explores the insights gained from taking an integrity and work ethics test, comparing those results with a prior self-assessment, and critically analyzing how these outcomes deepen self-awareness regarding ethical behavior.

The integrity and work ethics test aims to evaluate an individual’s moral principles, consistency, and alignment with core values. Although such tests are simplified tools, their outcomes can offer meaningful insights into one’s ethical stance. In my case, I found that the results of the test generally depicted my personal approach to integrity—highlighting honesty, accountability, and a commitment to ethical standards. I largely agreed with the outcomes, as they reflected my consistent behavior in both personal and professional settings. The test results underscored my awareness of the importance of integrity in fostering trust and credibility, key elements in ethical leadership (Palmer & Zajac, 2017).

Contrasting these results with the self-assessment from Workshop One revealed notable similarities. Both assessments emphasized traits such as honesty, responsibility, and moral consistency. However, the self-assessment provided a broader perspective by integrating contextual and situational aspects of my ethical behavior, which the test may not fully capture. Together, these evaluations offer a comprehensive picture of my ethical orientation, highlighting areas of strength and areas requiring development.

The alignment between the two assessments enhances my understanding of my ethical framework. It affirms that I value integrity as a fundamental aspect of my character and underscores the importance of maintaining consistency across various life domains. This reflection prompts me to consider how external factors—such as peer influence or organizational culture—may challenge or reinforce my ethical principles. Recognizing these dynamics is vital for authentic ethical leadership, which involves not only adherence to moral standards but also the ability to influence others positively (Brown & Treviño, 2022).

Furthermore, examining these results emphasizes the role of continuous self-assessment in ethical development. As ethical standards and societal expectations evolve, ongoing reflection ensures that one remains true to core values while adapting to new challenges. This process aligns with moral development theories, such as Kohlberg’s stages of moral reasoning, which advocate for reflective judgment as a means to advance ethical maturity (Kohlberg, 1984).

In conclusion, the integration of the outcomes from the integrity test and self-assessment has enriched my understanding of my ethical behavior. It highlights the significance of honesty, accountability, and moral consistency in personal and professional contexts. Such insights not only guide my current actions but also motivate continuous growth as an ethical leader committed to integrity. By engaging in honest self-reflection, I can better navigate the complex ethical landscapes of leadership and foster a culture of trust and responsibility.
