[Shortened Title up to 50 Characters] 2 To whom my concern I am writing this letter to clarify the status and how it happened as immigration extend. In my circumstances that were unforeseen and beyond my control, I did the all requirements papers to move my graduate for next semester in May 2018, but unfortunately I just did not form the academic side but unfortunately I was not aware that I have had to complete the same procedures in the international students department. I thought it would be inter-departmental contact to renewal the I-20 but it shows there is a gap between them In the last semester Fall 2017 I went to the registration office to drop the biology class it was in NOV 8 2017. In NOV I did change the date of my graduation to the next semester in spring 2018 on May based on the date shown in the papers attached.
This process resulted to not graduate before the I-20 expired. The school reopen on the second of January, and the class started in the JAN 17th 2018 as the time line of the UIW school official website at 12p.m specifically because we had a storm the day before. I went to the international office around 2p.m in1/17/2018 the same day the school start to hand over the course loud from that I fill it out which is the immigration rule that no student can register less than 12 hours for the Bachelor unless he has permission, to be ratified by the international office in UIW. At 6:33pm in the same day 1/17/2018, I received a surprising email which is attached with the letter that says the international office can't process my request because my name is on the Fall 2017 graduation list, that I already did it in NOV , which in the end makes my stay as illegal.
The violation of status resulted from circumstances beyond my control and failure to receive reinstatement to F-1 status would result in extreme hardship to my goal to pass one of the core course also I'm looking to graduate with the highest grades to go back home in Saudi Arabia to find a job over there. My goal to be a marketing director or marketing manager, that's the main goal for me. In back days I was work in ford motor company for 4 years as sales coordinator but I was looking for more then a sales man, my aspirations have become bigger I came here in USA to be more educated and knowledge about the international market. I'm a marketing major that I love to be more social and engage more with all community.
After the graduation, I will look for a job in marketing whether at Ford motor company or any other company in Saudi that looking for more than employee. I would like to share what I learned here to make the company I will work for to be more successful I am currently pursuing to pursue, a full course of study at the school less 12 hours, I have only 5 hours left to graduate which is the issued in the l-20 form. I have not engaged in unauthorized employment The termination of status occurred less than five months ago that in last semester I fill all the applications and the documents forms from the academic side to move my graduation from the fall 2017 to spring 2018. 0201_1.jpg 0201_2.jpg 0201_3.jpg 0201_4.jpg 0201_5.jpg 0201_6.jpg 0201_7.jpg 0201_8.jpg
Paper For Above instruction
This letter aims to clarify my current immigration status, the circumstances leading to its complication, and my sincere intention to rectify the situation. My intent is to demonstrate that the violation of my F-1 status was unintentional, caused by misunderstandings and procedural gaps beyond my control, and to request consideration for reinstatement or leniency based on these facts.
My academic journey in the United States has been driven by a determination to improve my professional prospects and contribute positively to my community. I arrived in the U.S. with a clear goal of completing my Bachelor’s degree in marketing, seeking to gain international market knowledge and social engagement skills that would enable me to pursue a career as a marketing director or manager. My prior professional experience includes four years as a sales coordinator at Ford Motor Company in my home country, Saudi Arabia, where I gained valuable insights into business operations and customer relations. However, I aspired for more and believed that studying in the U.S. would provide me with the necessary education and broader perspectives to achieve my career ambitions.
During the Fall 2017 semester, I made efforts to extend my student status by submitting required paperwork to move my graduation date to Spring 2018. I believed that inter-departmental communications were sufficient for this process, but I was unaware that I needed to complete the formal procedures with the international students department as well. This oversight resulted in a gap that affected my legal status. On November 8, 2017, I dropped my biology class and changed my graduation date accordingly, aiming to graduate in Spring 2018. Unfortunately, I was not aware that my previous graduation plans and the related paperwork had placed me on the Fall 2017 graduation list, which conflicted with my intent to extend my status into the next semester.
On January 17, 2018, as classes began, I visited the international office to register for courses, filling out the necessary forms which comply with immigration regulations requiring students to register for at least 12 credit hours unless permitted otherwise. Unexpectedly, I received an email later that evening informing me that my request could not be processed because I was listed on the Fall 2017 graduation list, effectively placing my status at risk of being considered unlawful. This sequence of events was unintentional and resulted solely from administrative misunderstandings and procedural lapses, for which I take responsibility.
My failure to maintain valid status has caused hardship, but I am committed to rectifying this situation. I am currently enrolled in a full course of study, with only five remaining credit hours needed for graduation, as outlined in my Form I-20. I have not engaged in any unauthorized employment, and I am eager to complete my degree and return to Saudi Arabia to contribute to my community through a marketing leadership role. The termination of my status occurred less than five months ago, and I am seeking reinstatement based on the circumstances described and my diligent efforts to comply with immigration regulations.
This situation has strengthened my resolve to adhere strictly to all immigration requirements moving forward. I respectfully request the USCIS to consider my case favorably, recognizing my genuine academic and professional intentions and the hardship my current status predicament imposes on my future goals. I am eager to continue my education without further interruption and to contribute meaningfully to society and the international business community.
