This week's assignment is a final reflection, somewhat similar to the reflection you did in Week 1. In one to two pages, I would like you to look back on this semester and reflect on your experience. These are some suggested areas to reflect upon: What did you enjoy the most? What did you enjoy the least? Were you surprised by anything?

For example, did you write into a genre you didn’t expect to like but did? What was your biggest challenge or obstacle? What was your biggest take-away? Would you do anything differently? What do you want to explore more? While this is primarily for you, it's also a really helpful opportunity for me to understand your experiences so I can continue to shape and improve experiences for future students!

Throughout this semester, my journey as a writer and learner has been filled with moments of discovery, challenge, and growth. Reflecting on this experience, I realize how much I have gained both academically and personally. One of the most enjoyable aspects of this course was exploring different writing genres, especially creative and reflective writing. I initially thought I would prefer straightforward academic writing but found that expressing myself through narratives allowed me to connect more deeply with the material and with my own thoughts.

Conversely, the aspect I enjoyed the least was the pressure of tight deadlines, which sometimes stifled my creativity and caused stress. Despite this, I learned to manage my time more effectively as the semester progressed. I was surprised to discover that I genuinely enjoyed writing in genres I had previously dismissed as less serious or too personal. For instance, I never expected to find value in writing personal reflections, but they became an enlightening process that helped me understand my motivations and learning patterns better.

The biggest challenge I faced was overcoming writer’s block during the early stages of composing my essays. Initially, I found it difficult to translate my thoughts coherently, but through practice and seeking feedback, I improved significantly. My biggest takeaway from this experience is that writing is a process of continuous refinement, and embracing vulnerability and honesty enhances both the writing and the self-awareness involved.

If I could do anything differently, I would allocate more time for revision and peer feedback before submitting assignments. I realized that constructive criticism is invaluable for development, and I often found myself rushing to meet deadlines, which limited the quality of my work. Additionally, I want to explore more creative writing styles and experiment with multimedia elements, such as incorporating images or audio into my projects, to deepen my engagement and expression.

Overall, this semester has been transformative. I have developed better writing skills, gained confidence in my voice, and learned the importance of resilience in facing academic challenges. Moving forward, I intend to continue exploring various genres and mediums of writing, as well as seeking feedback to refine my skills further. This experience has not only improved my academic abilities but has also contributed to my personal growth and self-understanding.
