Your final assignment should be 7–10 pages, including the two new pages of content from your research on quality this week. This assignment has two parts: Plan for your proposed healthcare facility and Reflection on your accomplishments and future skills development as a healthcare management professional.

Part 1: Plan for proposed healthcare facility

Develop a comprehensive proposal for the healthcare facility to present to the Board of Directors. Incorporate the following components:

Type of healthcare facility

Describe the type of facility you are recommending and justify your choice. For example, if recommending an ambulatory care facility, explain why this is preferable over other types. Detail the services offered and the healthcare delivery model. Specify the staffing structure, including position categories or titles and the required credentials or licensures mandated by the state where the facility is located.

Financing the organization

Discuss the reimbursement methods suitable for the proposed facility and justify your selection. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of these reimbursement strategies. Consider how these methods may influence the facility’s financial operations.

Medical technology

Explain the benefits of implementing an Electronic Health Record (EHR), including financial and health outcomes. Provide estimates of initial and ongoing costs associated with EHR deployment and management. Address current security concerns related to health information technology (HIT). Describe how EHRs facilitate decision-making and problem-solving within the facility. Select one federal legislation (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, Meaningful Use) and discuss its impact and requirements concerning HIT and EHR use.

Ethical and legal considerations

Identify an accrediting body relevant to your facility’s proposed location and scope. Discuss the ethical and legal responsibilities involved in securing licensure, certification, and accreditation, referencing state-specific licensure requirements.

Quality measures

Research and select at least two quality measures currently employed in healthcare settings. Describe how data for each measure will be collected and analyzed. Establish realistic benchmarks and justify your benchmark choices based on current standards and evidence. This section should be new content integrated with the previous work from Units 1–4, supported by a minimum of three references published within the last five years.

Part 2: Reflection on your professional development

Write a one-page reflection addressing your learning experience throughout the course. Focus on:

  • The skills and competencies you have developed in healthcare management during your studies.
  • The areas where you recognize a need for further development.
  • Your strategies for ongoing growth, including resources such as the American College of Healthcare Management competencies.
