NOà‰ GARCàA PSYCH 4971 Instructions for Assignments #2, #3 & #4 As part of writing the final text (the instructions for this will be sent in another document) and preparing for the oral report, students need to do various reviews of the existing literature (or what we call a Literature Review) on the subject matter they selected. The assignments (#2, #3 and #4) bear a similar logic and organization. What varies is the focus in terms of the selection of literature reviewed.
Paper For Above instruction
Write an academic paper that presents a comprehensive literature review on your chosen research subject, following the specific guidelines provided. Your review should include at least three texts if working individually or four if working as a group, consisting of articles from scholarly journals or chapters from specialized books that provide empirical studies or systematic theoretical reviews. The literature must be credible, peer-reviewed, and relevant to your research topic.
The review must be organized into paragraphs that include the following information: author(s), article/title/source in APA format; the topic and problem studied; the paradigm, model, therapy, assessment, or intervention discussed; criteria for selecting sources; study design, sampling, participants, data collection methods; data analysis strategies; results; conclusions; and your personal evaluation of the article’s relevance and quality. Pay particular attention to how each study relates to and informs your research interest, including constructive critiques or suggestions.
Each review should not be merely a reproduction of the abstract but should extend to a full paragraph or two, clearly articulating the content and implications of the study. The purpose of these reviews is to narrow down and define your research problem, so clearly state your proposed research topic and problem in a separate section within your submission.
The written review must adhere to formatting standards: Microsoft Word, letter size font 12, line spacing 1.5, and should be neatly printed and stapled. Ensure your content is clear, concise, and logically organized.
In selecting your literature, ensure a balanced distribution: at least three recent articles (from the last five years), three meta-analyses or systemic reviews, and one to two theoretical or discussion articles about your subject matter. Additionally, include studies focusing on your specific population of interest—age, gender, social group, or nationality—with a minimum of three articles addressing this aspect.
These reviews will inform your final project, which is an overarching synthesis of the current state of research on your topic, highlighting empirical evidence, theoretical developments, gaps, and future directions.
Important deadlines are:
- Assignment #2 (initial review): April 2, 2019
- Assignment #3: April 23, 2019
- Assignment #4 (final review): May 14, 2019
