Students may use the tools and techniques within Word to format the research paper, including use of the References and citation tools. These skills will be valuable throughout a student’s academic career. The paper will require a title page, NO abstract, three to four full pages. The paper should be well-organized, clearly written in a style appropriate for college level work with proper APA citations and references. The chosen topic must address ethical issues related to information technology, such as social engineering, employee monitoring, biometrics, cookies, privacy laws, or related dilemmas. The paper should describe the topic and ethical concerns, discuss current trends and impacts on individuals or organizations, and how efforts are being made to address or prevent these impacts. The paper must be double-spaced, in 12-point Arial font, with 1-inch margins, and include at least three APA-formatted in-text citations, two informational footnotes, a separate APA reference page, and be between three and five pages of body content (excluding title and references). Proper grammar and spelling are essential, and direct citations should not exceed 10% of the total words. The paper requires a descriptive title page centered on the page with the title and author’s name, and the content should be academically appropriate.
