For this assignment, I have chosen three topics that resonate with my interests and academic pursuits, each with a distinct focus and potential for impactful research. I will detail the reasons for selecting each, identify their intended audience, and propose preliminary thesis statements to guide further research.

Topic One: The Impact of Social Media on Adolescent Mental Health

The first topic I selected concerns the influence of social media platforms on the mental health of adolescents. The pervasive nature of social media has transformed communication among young people, raising concerns about issues such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. My interest in this topic stems from my background in psychology and my observation of increasing mental health challenges among teenagers.
