This paper examines a specific nursing care model observed in a practice setting, reviews scholarly literature related to this model and another alternative, analyzes the implementation process, and proposes improvements for enhanced quality and safety.

The model observed in the practice setting was the Team Nursing model, characterized by a registered nurse (RN) overseeing a team of nursing staff, including licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistants, to deliver patient care collaboratively. In this setting, RNs coordinated and delegated tasks based on staff competencies, with a focus on personalized patient care and efficient workflow. Observations indicated that RNs provided direct bedside care, while delegation was structured around defined roles, fostering a collaborative environment.
