Week Three Written Assignment Case Studies For This Week

Week Three Written Assignment Case Studiesfor This Weeks Written Assi

For this week’s written assignment, you are provided with 6 Case Study Topics and resources related to the topics. To successfully complete the case study, make sure to read the assignment instructions. Of special note here is that in this assignment, you must formulate an ethical question related to the topic. It’s a good idea to revisit the topics for last week’s written assignment to get an idea of what a well-formulated ethical question looks like. As you work on formulating your own ethical question for the topic you chose, take some time to think about a narrow and focused question, and above all, make sure that the question includes a moral term or phrase such as “should,” “duty,” “must,” “obligation,” “is it moral,” or “is it immoral?” You must use two resources both of which can be from the provided resources, but you may also include your own.

Note that the resources provided with the topics are links and that they need to be put into proper APA format. Consult this resource APAP: Formatting Your References List in the Writing Center for assistance with this. If you haven’t yet done so, it is recommended that you download the APA Word document Template from the Writing Center which is “pre-formatted” and can be used for all your papers (make sure to delete the current content in the body of the paper; it is also recommended to delete all but the first item on the reference page, inserting your references after the first item on the #1).

Paper For Above instruction

The task requires selecting one of the six provided case study topics—ranging from whistleblowing, drone attacks during 9/11, free speech and racism, sheriffs disobeying law, early childhood education, to religious beliefs in the workplace—and formulating a specific, narrow ethical question about it. The focus should be on a moral dilemma that involves a clearly defined moral term or phrase, such as “should,” “duty,” or “obligation.” For example, one might ask, “Should whistleblowers be protected when their disclosures threaten national security?” or “Is it moral for sheriffs to refuse to enforce laws they believe are unconstitutional?” This process involves critical thinking to narrow down a broad case into a precise ethical inquiry.

Once the ethical question is formulated, you are required to support your argument with at least two credible resources, which may include provided links or your own scholarly sources. Proper APA citation and referencing are essential. Use the APA template recommended by the Writing Center to ensure correct formatting for in-text citations and references.

In your paper, introduce the case briefly, clearly state your ethical dilemma, and analyze the moral aspects involved. Discuss different perspectives and the implications of various viewpoints, considering legal, societal, and personal moral factors. Conclude with your reasoned stance on the ethical question, justified by evidence and ethical principles.

This assignment promotes critical thinking about complex moral issues, requiring clarity, focus, and supporting evidence to develop a well-reasoned ethical argument.
