Leaders are charged with implementing the initiatives of the 21st century and guiding community colleges to address the issues of today and the future.

One of the most pressing issues impacting community college leaders today is the challenge of promoting equitable access and success for diverse student populations. This issue is considered a challenge because it reflects systemic barriers that hinder equitable educational attainment but also presents opportunities for innovative practices and policies to foster inclusivity.

The importance of promoting equity is underscored within the context of community colleges' mission to provide accessible higher education.
