In the realm of leadership, worldview plays a pivotal role in shaping leadership styles and approaches. Leaders with a task-oriented worldview may prioritize efficiency, structure, and results, often emphasizing protocols and measurable outcomes (Schein, 2010). Conversely, those with a relational worldview tend to focus on fostering trust, collaboration, and emotional intelligence. The diversity of worldviews among leaders can either facilitate a dynamic, innovative environment or create conflicts and misunderstandings if not consciously managed. Within my organization, particular dominant leadership worldviews manifest in various leadership styles and cultural expressions. This worldview is expressed through initiatives that promote innovation, employee development, and organizational adaptability. These leaders often utilize open communication channels, encourage feedback, and prioritize ethical considerations, reflecting their core belief in empowerment and collective growth (Northouse, 2018). Additionally, some leaders embody a more transactional worldview, focusing on clear structures, defined roles, and reward systems that emphasize performance management (Burns, 2003). Their expression manifests in structured policies, formal evaluation processes, and a results-oriented approach.

Recognizing and understanding the dominant leadership worldviews in an organization is crucial for fostering cohesion and aligning strategic objectives with organizational culture. When leaders share a common worldview, such as an emphasis on ethical behavior and inclusivity, organizational coherence improves, and employee morale increases (Colquitt et al., 2013). However, differences in worldviews can lead to tensions or misunderstandings, particularly when change is necessary or diverse perspectives are not acknowledged. Therefore, cultivating awareness of these worldviews can facilitate better communication, reduce conflicts, and promote a more inclusive environment.

Leaders can intentionally develop awareness of their own worldview and those of others through reflection, training, and open dialogue. This helps in recognizing the underlying values that influence decision-making processes and interpersonal interactions. For instance, a leader who understands that colleagues may hold different views about authority or risk-taking can modify their communication style to foster trust and collaboration (Goleman, 2000).
