Assistive technology (AT) refers to devices, systems, or equipment that support individuals with disabilities in performing functions that might otherwise be difficult or impossible for them. In the realm of communication, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices serve as critical tools. Devices like the Tobii eye-tracking system or portable speech-generating devices facilitate communication for individuals with speech or language impairments. However, challenges exist in ensuring equitable access to assistive technology.
