The Gallup StrengthsFinder assessment offers a valuable window into understanding an individual's innate talents and how they influence leadership and personal development. By analyzing self-assessment results, individuals can identify their core strengths, values, and traits, which serve as foundational elements for effective leadership. This paper explores my personal strengths, core values, and characteristics I wish to enhance, reflecting on their impact on my leadership style and growth trajectory.

Primarily, my top five strengths, as revealed by the StrengthsFinder, include Relator, Intellection, Includer, Ideation, and Restorative. These themes illustrate a person who values deep relationships, loves mental stimulation, seeks inclusivity, enjoys generating ideas, and relishes solving problems. The Relator strength indicates my preference for close, genuine bonds with others—an asset in building trust and fostering team cohesion. Intellection underscores my love for reflection and intellectual engagement, enabling me to process complex issues critically. Includer emphasizes my desire to create inclusive environments, ensuring diverse voices are heard and valued. Ideation fuels my capacity to generate innovative solutions, while Restorative enhances my problem-solving skills, energizing my approach to fixing and improving systems or situations (Rath, 2007).

From these strengths, I identify two core values—empathy and positivity—that resonate deeply with my trait profile. Empathy aligns with my Relator theme and amplifies my ability to connect authentically with others, understanding their feelings, and responding compassionately. Positivity complements my inclinations towards hope and optimism, creating an empowering environment that inspires confidence. These values are pivotal in my leadership style, fostering trust, morale, and collaborative relationships within teams (Goleman, 1998).

Regarding personal and professional development, I recognize two strengths that I am motivated to strengthen further: Developer and Context. My Developer strength drives me to nurture others, mentoring team members and encouraging their growth. Enhancing this skill could elevate my leadership effectiveness, transforming me from a supportive team member into a strategic leader capable of cultivating talent and facilitating organizational development (Ferreira et al., 2022). Conversely, my Context strength, which involves learning from history and understanding the evolution of ideas, supports my capacity for strategic thinking. Improving in this area will enable me to anticipate future challenges better and make informed decisions grounded in historical insights.

The two characteristics I find necessary to develop further are consistency and resilience. While I generally perform reliably, I tend to second-guess my decisions, which can undermine my confidence and authority. Strengthening consistency would improve my decision-making clarity and ensure steadiness in leadership. Additionally, I aim to build resilience to better withstand setbacks and maintain a positive trajectory despite adversity (Broome & Marshall, 2021). Cultivating these traits will enhance my capacity to lead with confidence and adaptability, vital attributes in dynamic work environments.

In conclusion, understanding my strengths and values informed by the StrengthsFinder assessment equips me with a clearer picture of my leadership style. Recognizing the importance of nurturing my strengths such as Developer and Context, and working on developing traits like consistency and resilience, aligns with my goal of becoming a more effective leader. This self-awareness fosters continuous growth, enabling me to contribute positively to my organization and team members, ultimately driving personal and professional success.
