The course I am undertaking this term is ORL515: Leading High Performance Teams. This eight-week course focuses on equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for leading effective teams in various organizational contexts. The course emphasizes understanding diverse models and perspectives related to team leadership, including motivation, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making processes. Participants are expected to develop competencies that can be immediately applied to enhance team performance, whether in business, non-profit, or community settings.

Key outcomes of this course include the ability to analyze different team leadership models, create strategies for building cohesive teams, and implement effective communication and conflict resolution techniques. Additionally, students learn to assess team dynamics and develop tailored interventions to improve team effectiveness. These objectives align with organizational goals of fostering collaborative environments conducive to high performance.

In my current role as a project coordinator in a non-profit organization, I actively utilize skills directly connected to these outcomes.
