After carefully watching an approved historical film from the list provided in the course syllabus, write a 2-3-page essay in the following format. To earn the maximum points possible (10 POINTS - A FULL LETTER GRADE!) on the Unit Exam, be sure to check for complete sentences, correct grammar and spelling, and complete paragraphs. A complete paragraph must have a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a conclusion sentence.

FORMAT: Typed, double-spaced, 1" Margins all around, 12-point font, Times New Roman

First Paragraph: Introduce the film and the main point you want to make about it. Include the name of the film, its release year, director, any awards if applicable, main setting, and the time period or major historical events depicted.

Paragraphs 2-4 or 5: Write at least 2-3 paragraphs describing the plot. What happened? What was the main conflict and climax? How did characters deal with conflicts? How did the film end?

Paragraph 5 or 6: Explain how the story fits into U.S. history. What does it reveal about the past? Is there a moral or lesson? Does it alter or reinforce your understanding of the era? Did it provide insights into specific groups or events?

Last Paragraph: Restate your main idea about the film. Provide your opinion on the film’s interest level, acting, believability, special effects, costumes, sets, or props. Would you recommend this film to others?
